** N.b. Capricorn rules the knees and according to some (sources) the 13th degree concerns the right knee structures. It is not a given that an activation of the degree will result in increase of related afflictions but that those specific afflictions will be somehow prominently marked in history. In this view, the 1994 incident makes sense. Events that make the news under certain aspects are time-stamps. Perhaps nothing more than signposts. The implications of each aspect or activation develop over time. In this instance, it is not the broken right knee that is significant for mankind but why it happened and what it meant for the vaster structure in place.

January 4th 1962

32 years earlier,  on January 4th 1962 Venus and Mars conjoined at 8 CAP 03.

(An interesting parenthesis here : at the time of that particular conjunction, Saturn was at 0 AQU 04. This is nearly a match to where Venus-Mars will touch base for the second time this year on March 6th at 0 AQU 01. There is certainly a personal story there, for those willing to dig into the long-term cycles and map it. Something ear-marked by Saturn then is now activated within our timeline.

Sabian symbols suggest the following image for the first degree of Aquarius:

AN OLD ADOBE MISSION IN CALIFORNIA – KEYNOTE: The power inherent in all great human works to endure far beyond the workers’ life spans.

THE CONCRETIZATION OF AN IDEAL. This also implies the “immortalization” of an individual within a great collective and cultural enterprise.

Venus-Mars conjunctions in Capricorn – frequency, degrees and the motion of Venus

A data review of 3000 years between 500BC and 2500 AD has shown that Venus-Mars will have been conjunct in Capricorn 163 times. That is 6.7% of all Venus-Mars conjunctions in this time-span (2431).

It has been 28 years since the last couple of Venus-Mars conjunctions in Capricorn.

Recent and upcoming Venus-Mars conjunctions in Capricorn

Interesting to note that we are currently welcoming a conjunction on an anniversary of another conjunction in Capricorn. On February 16th 1960 Venus and Mars met at 25 CAP 04. That is exactly 62 years to the day of the currently forming conjunction.

Considering that it’s been a while since the most recent conjunction in Capricorn, it is particularly notable (from an astrological perspective at least) that, as of 2022, we are looking at several meets between Venus and Mars in this sign within a relatively short timeframe.

The upcoming conjunctions in Capricorn emphasize the span between 15 – 18 degrees of Capricorn.

Reviewing the data on conjunctions between 500 BC and 2500 AD by degree it is seen that Venus and Mars conjunct anywhere between 3 and 14 times per each degree of Capricorn. On average they perfect a conjunction in Capricorn around 5 times per each degree set.

A review of data reveals clustering of Venus-Mars conjunctions between 23 and 24 degrees of Capricorn (14), degrees 7-8 and 8-9 have 9 conjunctions each. That amounts to nearly 20% of conjunctions in Capricorn occurring on just 3/30 degrees of the sign. This may imply that planets or points on such degrees are more “charged”.

Venus-Mars conjunctions at 16th  degree of Capricorn

Venus-Mars do sometimes meet on the exact same point, but this is rare. As seen above, they are conjunct somewhat more frequently within each degree span. Between 500 BC and 2500 AD they will have met on the 16-17 degree of Capricorn 7 times. The last time Venus and Mars were conjunct around 16 CAP was

  • 3 Feb 1755 and before that
  • 28 Jan 1172

While these greater cycles do likely “matter”, they are very long and not immediately relevant to the individual human experience.

Venus motion during conjunctions – Capricorn

From our data report on Venus-Mars conjunctions:

Venus Retrograde conjunct Mars

“Between 500AD and 2500BC we will have had 382 conjunctions with Venus RX – that is around 16% of all their conjunctions in this timeframe.”

23 of those will have occurred in Capricorn. At 6% that is the lowest rate of all signs.

  • The last Ven RX-Mar conjunction in this sign took place in 1787
  • the next one will be in the distant 2264.

Venus (at station) conjunct Mars

“Between 500AD and 2500BC only 14 conjunctions will have occurred at Venus station.

  • The next time this happens will be Nov 11, 2034 with Venus stationary at 20 LIB 27
  • The last time this occurred is Feb 3 1755 at 16 CAP 27*

(*Coincidentally the 1755 conjunction is close to the degree of our upcoming one on the 16-17 degree of Capricorn on February 16th. This time Venus will not be stationary however)

It is interesting to note here that the most conjunctions that occurred during a Venus station happened in Capricorn (3/14) and 2 each in Taurus, Libra and Aquarius

This means that a third of signs (total of 4 Venus and Saturn ruled signs) receive 64.3% of all conjunctions during Venus station (during the period under study).”

Saturn-ruled Venus-Mars conjunctions 2022-2029

Following the conjunction in Capricorn in February 2022, Venus and Mars enter Aquarius in unison, forming a fresh conjunction there by March 6th 2022. At that time, the Moon will be in Taurus about to conjunct Uranus, the modern ‘ruler’ of Aquarius.

This cluster of Saturn-ruled conjunctions active between 2022-2029 will repeat again in 2054 and may be of interest for further study.
